Product description
Jura Liszycin, the young Cossack captain, receives an unexpected assignment from the ruler of Russia torn apart by civil wars: as the head of a selected detachment, find out what happened at the Yaroslavl post, whose inhabitants have not given any sign of life since an alleged rebellion. At the same time, the deafened survivors of the eastern border guard station destroyed by the "occupiers", Jegor, and Misell, who is pregnant by the love of the late soldier, set off on a tumultuous journey towards the capital to warn the people of the impending danger. And while Moscow, immersed in the illusion of prosperity and entangled in power intrigues, prepares for the canonization of the tsar's father, the infected carrying the murderous contagion, the "satanima" that spreads through hearing, appear in the city limits...
With his latest novel, Dmitry Glukhovsky once again proves that he is rightfully considered one of the most exciting authors of contemporary Russian prose. Building on the post-apocalyptic world of its predecessor, Post 2, it is an adventure story rich in shocking twists and thought-provoking dilemmas: about a mysterious epidemic, about politics pushing mass consciousness into war psychosis, about the eternal cycle of historical crimes, about the desperate struggle for survival... and not least about the hope of resurrection.
Dmitry Glukhovsky (b. 1979) is a globally popular author of new Russian literature. His debut novel, Metro 2033, set in post-nuclear war Moscow, became a bestseller in many countries. He later expanded his post-apocalyptic success book into a trilogy (Metró 2034 and 2035), but also wrote a historical adventure novel (Szürkület), a satirical narrative book interwoven with sci-fi elements (Russian anti-people tales), a large-scale negative utopia (Futu.re) and a modern crime novel focusing on the world of smartphones (Text ) also.
His latest novel Post 2 was published in 2021, like its predecessor, for the first time in the form of an audio book.
