The King's Dilemma is a board game offering an interactive narrative gaming experience, in which countless branching storylines can lead to many endings. The basis of the game's mechanics is provided by the constantly changing content of the event deck.

Players control noble houses in the Kingdom of Ankist. Each round, you draw a card from the dilemma deck, and then you learn about another element of the slowly unfolding story. Each of the cards presents the Council members with a problem that they must solve on behalf of the king. Since you are members of the king's inner circle, your decisions will determine the course of the story and the fate of the kingdom. Each event can only occur once: then you can discuss your arguments and bargain with other players, but in the end you have to make a decision that determines the outcome of the event, and thus you can move on to a new thread of the story, which opens new events.

You have to run the kingdom, but in the process you have to try to get the most advantage for your houses. This power struggle can lead the kingdom to war, famine or rebellion, but it can also bring prosperity and wealth. It all depends on your decisions! But what may be good for the kingdom will not necessarily be good for your houses.
