In September 2020, Datalogic presented its latest family of one-dimensional barcode scanners named Gryphon 4200. This series of the Italian manufacturer has enjoyed great popularity around the world until now, and over the past few years it has already been sold in a huge number of around one million pieces!
The Datalogic Gryphon GD4200 wired barcode scanners represent the highest category of 1D scanners intended for general use, capable of outstanding reading performance even for high-density or low-quality codes. They can be used in many areas of use: in retail trade, during warehouse and logistics tasks involving lighter physical demands, on light industrial production lines, but also excellent for events, airport check-in or hotel check-in!

In contrast to laser one-dimensional scanners, in the case of the Datalogic Gryphon GD4200 linear imager, a CCD is responsible for image creation, thanks to which it is capable of leading performance! It can scan even low-quality, incomplete or otherwise challenging codes with high security and a negligible error rate - depending on the code type, even from a distance of nearly one and a half meters! -, so it is among the best in its category in terms of efficiency. The use of modern technology can easily eliminate conditions that would otherwise cause serious difficulties! With the Gryphon GD4200 readers, you can work even in a poorly lit room, in bright sunlight, and you can even read effectively from the reflective displays of mobile phones and tablets!
Thanks to the Datalogic Motionix motion sensor technology, the device can also automatically switch between manual and presentation modes, so you get immediate effectiveness without adjustments or waiting!

It's easy to connect!
The Datalogic Gryphon 4200 series broke away from the use of the previously dominant USB type B connectors, so each model has a more modern USB type C port.
The GD4220 models only work with this connection method, while the Gryphon GD4290 models have a multi-interface, so you can use them with RS-232 standard cables and a keyboard wedge connector.

Hold on to the training!
The Datalogic Gryphon 4200 1D scanner also competes with the best general-purpose barcode scanners based on its housing and mechanical protection. IP52 standard protection protects the inside of the scanner from dust and provides limited protection against splashing water. In terms of impact resistance, however, it boasts excellent values: it can fall from a height of up to 1.8 meters and still remain operational.

In addition to the audio signal, Datalogic's patented "Green Spot" also provides feedback on the result of the reading, and the user is also assisted by a target light. In the case of a successful reading, the scanner projects a green light directly onto the barcode, so even in a noisy environment, the user can immediately see the outcome without having to divide their attention!

With some manufacturers, the device housing resistant to cleaning with aggressive chemicals is only available for premium models, but it is already a standard accessory for Datalogic Gryphon I 4200 barcode scanners!
