Product description
The DPS-500A Redundant Power Supply (RPS) is designed to meet the watt requirements of D-Link's Ethernet and Gigabit switches. It is an external RPS unit enclosed in a solid metal case with sockets that connect to an AC power source at one end and the switch's internal power supply at the other end. It offers a low-cost, simple solution to the accidental failure of an Ethernet switch's internal power supply, which can result in the shutdown of the switch, the devices connected to its ports, or the entire network. By supporting the full output power of the switch, these redundant power supplies can maximize the availability of the switching device.
Redundant Power Backup
All D-Link RPS are equipped with integrated sensing circuitry that continuously monitors the switch's internal power supply. In the event of a power failure, the redundant power supply is immediately released so that the LAN switch and the devices connected to it can continue to provide service.
This results in a more reliable network infrastructure and protects the network from being shut down due to a single network device power failure.
Easy and flexible installation
Installation of DPS series devices does not require changing the configuration of the LAN switch. Each RPS is equipped with a universal internal power supply and can be connected to any AC power source between 90 V AC and 264 V AC, 47 Hz and 63 Hz using a standard AC power cable.
Modular redundant power supplies
The DPS-500A is a modular redundant power supply that can be installed as a stand-alone power supply or in a DPS-800 rack-mountable housing. The frame is designed to mount in a standard 19-inch mounting rack. Several power supplies can be placed in one housing, from which they can be connected to switches installed in the same rack.
Rack mountable chassis
The DPS-800 housing can accommodate up to two DPS-200A modules in one equipment rack. By using the housing, users can save space while allowing for clean cabling. All chassis-mounted redundant power supplies are directly connected to the power source and are hot-swappable.
