The 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceiver module provides the flexibility and port density well known for the SFP+ design by using Cat 6a UTP structured cabling for network connectivity. It is an optimal solution with a length of up to 30 m, designed to provide a minimum energy saving of at least 0.5 W per port compared to a 10GBASE-T RJ45 of the same length (Cat 6a, up to 30 m). These savings can increase ToR, middle and serial switch connections.

This is an alternative compared to standard SFP+ SR/LR fiber optics, which uses standard technology with the familiar RJ45 connector and is backward compatible with legacy networks.
