This volume is an alphabetical index of seals found on charters and documents dating from the period before the Battle of Mohács. It was compiled by archivist Dr. Dezső Csánki from the holdings of the Hungarian Royal National Archives.
Alongside a historical overview, the book presents 52 special and rarely seen seals, reproduced as photogravures from images made by György Klősz. These illustrations help make research into the period more accessible.
Published by Nemzeti Örökség Kiadó, the 70-page softcover book is a useful reference for anyone interested in Hungarian history, heraldry and sphragistics, the study of seals.
