Carcassonne is a classic strategy and family board game based on the medieval fortified town of the same name in southern France. Players take turns drawing and placing landscape tiles showing roads, cities, monasteries and fields. They place followers, known as meeples, on the tiles to score points from cities, roads, monasteries and fields.
The game won the Spiel des Jahres award in 2001 and has remained one of the most popular tile-placement board games in the world. It is designed for 2 to 5 players and takes about 35 minutes to play. Recommended from seven years of age, it appeals to children, young people and adults alike.
This V3.0 edition is the updated, latest release of Klaus-Jürgen Wrede's design and is suited to indoor play.
