The Broadcom NetXtreme N2100G is a dual-port network adapter in a PCI Express 4.0 x16 form factor, delivering 100 Gb/s per port through two QSFP56 connectors. Built to the Open Compute Project (OCP) 3.0 design specification in a compact footprint, the card uses the Broadcom BCM57508 controller with integrated dual-channel 100GbE SFI transceivers. It supports QSFP56, QSFP28 and QSFP+ optical modules as well as direct-attach copper cables.

The adapter includes Data Center Bridging (DCB), Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), which improve data transfer efficiency and network management. Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) and VMware NetQueue support help handle virtual machine traffic.

With a power consumption of just 19.3 watts, the adapter is well suited to demanding virtualized data center environments where high bandwidth must be balanced against energy use.
