The Broadcom HBA 9500-8i is a Tri-Mode storage adapter designed for enterprise servers and data centre environments. It provides eight internal ports and a PCIe Gen 4.0 host interface, giving it more bandwidth and IOPS performance than the previous generation. This makes it suited to demanding, mission-critical workloads that need both throughput and room to grow.
The adapter can connect up to 1024 SAS or SATA devices or up to 32 NVMe devices, so storage can be scaled flexibly as requirements change. Support for Universal Bay Management (UBM) prepares it for managing NVMe drives in compatible enclosures.
