I'm always ahead! Jackie Robinson has always loved sports, especially baseball. He could run, jump and throw better than any other child. Back then, the rules weren't fair to African-Americans: although Jackie was a great athlete, he wasn't allowed to play in the best teams because of his skin color. Jackie knew that sport is only worth something if everyone plays together. He became the first black baseball player in the professional league, whose courage showed the way to equality in all sports in America. This New York Times bestselling biographical series inspires children to dream big through great and exemplary people. We can all be heroes!
