Product description
The new prophets appearing in the tattered cloak of Marxism not only proclaim that market capitalism and liberal democracy are doomed, but some of them even attempt to rehabilitate Marxism and Leninism. These authors happily ignore all signs of capitalism's adaptability and resilience. For decades, they have been waiting for the final fall of liberal capitalism and democracy. Of course, no one can guarantee the survival of the capitalist order and liberalism, and we must redouble our efforts not only to protect it, but more importantly to strengthen and renew it. But this gradual rebirth - which goes through crises - could never take place on the basis of some kind of collectivist utopia, because that would give up the very principles and values that are the essence of Western civilization. Without forcing anyone to introduce liberal democracy against the will of their own people, we must show the values of individualism, since this is the only possible starting point for achieving true social solidarity on a conscious and voluntary basis. This is the message that the five scientific giants addressed in this book left us in the course of their endless struggle for the assertion of human dignity. they all recognized the enormity of the challenge that the socialist idea represented in an age when twentieth-century history had reached its nadir and action against inhuman socialism seemed an almost hopeless enterprise. Individualistic humanism later won over the socialist version of totalitarian collectivism. However, it is not at all certain that it would have been successful without the incredible intellectual struggle of these five towering personalities - and many others - which contributed to our understanding of the terrible tragedy of the socialist idea.
