Bödök Gergely - A történelem bennünk él - Romsics hetven

"Is there a more uplifting feeling for a teacher than seeing his students fly, on their own wings? No, by God, no..."

In the volume that the Reader holds in his hands, Ignác Romsics' narrow circle of students pay tribute to their master with their writings. All of them consider themselves exceptionally lucky to have been able to listen to his lectures as students, and later, now as colleagues, to appear with him at conferences or to publish in the same journals and volumes. In June 2021, on the occasion of his seventieth birthday, Ignác Romsics gave these students the thoughts of the Gospel of John (János 13: 34-35) as a guide for the future at a friendly gathering at his home: "Love one another: as I have loved you, love one another! everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
