Boda Miklós - Itáliából Itáliába

The study volume on the history of literature and culture publishes twenty-four articles from the author's research of the past decade and a half. As the subtitle of the volume (Bishops. professors, poets) indicates, in the book we can also read about such excellent church figures as Bishop St. Gellért, who came to our country from Italy, Bishop Miklós Neszmélyi, who was active during the founding period of the medieval University of Pécs, and his successor, the "university founder" Bishop Vilmos, the "library founder" from the 18th century Klimó (Klimo) György, bishop of Pécs, and III. Bishop János of Pécs, better known as Janus Pannonius. They are followed by the poet and general Miklós Zrínyi, the Madách descendant Károly Balogh, and more recently Győző Csorba and Tibor Tüskés. Other "characters" of the book include: Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli, Italian military engineer; the 'brilliant madman" György Kalmár; scholar József Koller of the bishop's library; the excellent painter Imre Vizkelety, who moved from Arad to Pécs after the settlement; Jenő Koltay-Kastner, the founding professor of the Italian Institute of Elizabeth University, Pál Arató, a staff member of the Gregorian University in Rome, and Imre Nagy, literary historian, professor emeritus.
