Gergely Péterfy's novel Kitömött barbár, published in 2014, which presents the friendship between Ferenc Kazinczy and Angelo Soliman in the narration of Sophie Török, was a significant success with readers and critics. It was awarded the Aegon Art Award in 2015, and the explosive readership indicates that it is currently (2022) in its seventh edition.
Élveboncolás is a community work, the result of group interpretative work: it collects the specialist studies of excellent literary scholars in one volume, offers a selection of criticisms of The Stuffed Barbarian, and also shares Gergely Péterfy's essay on the writing of the novel, which has not been published elsewhere. In the podium discussion at the start of the volume, the author, interpreter and literary critic invites the reader around the round table on which - corpus delicti - the Stuffed Barbarian lies spread out.
