The AXIS FA54 main unit can be connected to four highly discrete AXIS FA sensor units to monitor four indoor areas close to each other. The main unit can be the basis of a complete video surveillance system - perfect for a small shop, bank or office. Or it can be an additional element of a larger system where sensor units are needed for highly discrete monitoring.

Keep it discreet - and flexible
Like all modular camera systems, the AXIS FA series is based on a shared network camera concept, where the camera is divided into a sensor unit (lens and image sensor) and a main unit (camera body). The units are connected by a cable that is supplied with the sensor unit.

With the AXIS FA series, the main and sensor units are sold separately, so you can choose the sensor units that best suit your application. Note that AXIS FA series master and sensor units cannot be used together with AXIS F series master and sensor units.

Excellent video quality with forensic WDR
AXIS FA54 main unit always supports Axis Forensic WDR. AXIS FA54 focuses on the darker areas of a high-contrast illuminated scene, such as when it is backlit against a very bright background. In such a scenario, a conventional camera that does not support wide dynamic range will produce a dark image of the person; In AXIS FA54 with Forensic WDR, colors and details are more visible in darker areas. The WDR technology of AXIS FA products is also optimized for motion, so there is no motion noise when a fast-moving object is in motion. In low light conditions, an AXIS FA series system provides excellent color video with low noise levels.

Keep the total cost low
A system with an AXIS FA54 main unit and four HDTV 1080p sensors is often less expensive than conventional HDTV 1080p cameras with similar functionality. And with only one Ethernet cable for four sensor units, you can reduce the network port requirements and save the network switch cost. In addition, with one IP address, you only need one Video Management Software (VMS) license to view video from four sensor units.

The AXIS FA series system also saves bandwidth and storage requirements. For example, Axis Zipstream technology efficiently encodes H.264 video streams, reducing storage and bandwidth requirements by up to 50% or more while preserving important detail. Event-triggered recording also helps reduce bandwidth and storage with analytics.
