ATEN HDMI Optical Extender (1080p-600m) VE882

The ATEN VE882 is an optical HDMI extender that goes well beyond the length limits of standard HDMI cables. It carries high-resolution audio and video signals over a single fibre optic link across distances of up to 600 m.

The unit takes the audio-video stream from the local source and serialises it for transmission over one optical connection running at 3.125 Gbps. It supports 1080p at 60 Hz with 24-bit colour depth, as well as HDMI 3D, Deep Color and HDCP.

The VE882 can also extend infrared remote control signals and carry RS-232 data at up to 115 kb/s in both directions, so serial devices such as touchscreens or barcode scanners can be connected at the remote end. Infrared transmission is bidirectional but works in one direction at a time.
