The AS106 consists of a pair of 6.5” diameter coaxial 2-way in-ceiling speakers that provide excellent sound performance. Each speaker comes with a 6.5” woofer, 20mm dome tweeter, and 60W RMS, 120W peak (8Ω) power handling capability. Excellent and consistent sound quality is ensured by taking advantage of the 80 - 20kHz bandwidth and wide coverage, which allows the use of fewer speakers to cover the listening area, thereby reducing the cost of the installed system.
The speaker includes a matching transformer that conveniently operates on 70 / 100V lines or at 8Ω to meet a variety of application needs. Phase problems are minimized thanks to the use of a coaxial neodymium magnetic driver, which allows the sound waves of different frequency bands to add to each other instead of canceling each other out. The UL94-V0 flame-resistant housing and zinc-coated steel backplate increase safety in applications where flame and fire protection are paramount. In terms of installation, each speaker comes with a cut-out template for quick and easy retrofit installation and can be secured using the dog leg mounting system. The paintable magnetic grid provides easy installation and cleaning, while adding an inconspicuous look to any room design.
