Active metering provided by APC's metered rack power distribution units (PDUs) enables energy optimization and circuit protection. The device can warn of possible current overloads with a real-time local and remote alarm using the alarm threshold that can be set by the user. Metered rack PDUs manage power usage, allowing data center operators to make informed decisions about load balancing and equipment sizing, reducing total cost of ownership. Metered rack PDUs feature real-time power monitoring, a temperature/humidity sensor port, lockable IEC receptacles, and ultra-low profile circuit breakers. The metered rack PDUs can be accessed, configured and controlled via a secure web connection, SNMP or Telnet. In doing so, you can use the InfraStruXure Central, Operations, Capacity and Energy Efficiency applications available from APC's central management interface.
