Product description
This beautifully illustrated book containing seven tales is based on the collection of János Nagy Berze: Népmesék from Heves- és Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties, a selection from a hundred and ten-year-old collection of folk tales, which was published in Budapest in 1907. Revised version for children of the folk tales originally recorded verbatim in dialect. The ethnographic researcher János Nagy Berze systematized Hungarian folk tales for the first time and compiled the catalog of Hungarian Folk Tale Types. Magic tales, fairy tales, and heroic tales belong to the most archaic and oldest layer of our folktale treasure, the mythical tale. At the beginning of the tale, the hero is a representative of humanity in a devalued world. You have to set out and retrieve something very valuable and important, because otherwise the order of the world cannot be restored. During his journey, he has to endure all kinds of tests, in the process he finds helpers, acquires magical tools, but there are also obstacles and enemies, and at the end of the tale, good always triumphs and evil is atoned for.
