The XVII. In the 19th century, the sudden increase in interest in the natural sciences had an impact on almost all areas of society. This was manifested, among other things, in the fact that, in addition to scientific works, more and more writings were published that did not ask their questions about science in the usual way, but rather processed the scientific content in a much lighter and simpler style. The primary reason for this is that the previously closed world of science has suddenly become accessible to everyone. Not only scientists, but also journalists or even fiction writers could report on a scientific problem. So science had a serious rival. The definition of non-fiction literature, which appears as a spin-off of scientific literature, runs into so many obstacles because it forms a transition between science and fiction. The volume is from the XVII-XVIII. through the presentation of the scientific and social changes taking place at the turn of the 20th century, it attempts to outline the network of relationships between science and knowledge dissemination, and to clarify the two concepts in the Italian context.
