Product description
At the age of twenty-one, John Nash is a brilliant, fun-loving and somewhat eccentric student at Princeton University. Instead of attending classes, he looks for big ideas and finds them: refuting the previous principles of economics, he creates the theory of rational human behavior, which has proven to be the most effective to date.
Ten years later, at the height of his distinguished career as a mathematician - and shortly after he marries a beautiful young physicist - his life takes a dramatic turn. His nerves fail him and he breaks out into schizophrenia. He spent the next three decades tormented by constant sensory disappointments, unable to work, mostly locked up in mental institutions. A quiet, withdrawn, ghost-like figure who sometimes wanders around like a ghost
in the corridors of Princeton University.
At the age of sixty, the world suddenly opens up for him again, when his schizophrenia shows an alleviation that has never been experienced by anyone else, and in 1994 he is awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics. John Nasht is brought back from the spirit world by the endless patience and love of his wife and colleagues, as well as his own ability to fight.
In 2001, Ron Howard's Oscar-winning film also brought Nash world fame. Later in 2015, at the age of 86, he received the most prestigious mathematical award, the Abel Prize, and a few weeks later he died in a car accident.
