Stephen King - Favourites temetője

Dr. Louis Creed, the young doctor, got an excellent job: he became the head of the University of Maine office, so he moves from Chicago to a secluded house in the idyllic New England landscape with his family - his wife, Rachel, their five-year-old daughter, Ellie and a half with their little boy of Gage. Happily, in the hope of a beautiful future, they take possession of their new home ...
The first concern is that of an old man, across the road, opposite them, Jud: on a country road bisecting the landscape, oil tankers rumble day and night, putting pets and trifles in mortal danger. It is no coincidence that there is an depressing atmosphere, an ancient cemetery for run-down pets nearby ... The first trauma befalls Louist when he was the victim of an accident, a dying boy warning him in the office of stuttering words about the danger beyond the animal cemetery. Not long after that, a tanker runs over Ellie's beloved cat and old Jud - out of goodwill or bad will? - takes Louist to the creepy countryside beyond the animal cemetery, the former burial ground of the micmac Indians, and lands the animal with him there.
The next day, the cat returned - but it became an ugly thing: sluggish, frighteningly stinking, and evil. Then, after a few peaceful months, little Gage gets rid of his parents and starts running on his tiny feet toward the highway ...
King's novel full of horrors was first published in Hungarian in 1993, entitled Animal Cemetery.
