Product description
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G is 20 percent lighter than its predecessor (SEL1018), making it the smallest and lightest lens in its category. Its total weight is only 178 grams - even when using the power zoom. In addition, the lens uses an internal zoom and focus mechanism, so the focal length does not change when zooming or focusing. The movement of the center of gravity of the lens is minimal, making it an excellent choice for making stable vlogs and filming on a gimbal.
Outstanding image quality and dynamic perspectives that only an ultra-wide-angle zoom can provide
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G provides an extremely wide angle of view in the 10-20mm zoom range and is designed to provide consistently excellent optical performance at all zoom settings from the center to the periphery of the image. The three aspherical elements are ideally positioned to suppress field curvature and astigmatism, which are common problems with ultra-wide-angle lenses. The optical path also includes two ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass components that effectively dampen chromatic aberration. An ED aspherical element also contributes to high resolution in all corners of the image. Furthermore, since the maximum aperture of the lens is a constant F4 at all focus settings, stable image quality is ensured when shooting movies, and it offers a manageable shutter speed in twilight or indoors with limited light.
The circular aperture and carefully designed spherical aberration combine to produce a natural-looking G lens bokeh that contributes to stunning images. The minimum autofocus distance is 0.2 meters with a maximum magnification of 0.14x, while the minimum manual focus distance is 0.13 ~ 0.17 meters with a maximum magnification of 0.18x.
Sophisticated self-expression and control options for movie shooting
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G features a new electronic power zoom system that provides direct, responsive control and adjustable zoom speed. The device accurately detects even the finest rotation of the zoom ring and immediately converts it into an actual zoom operation. The zoom lever provides users with an extremely large range of motion in terms of control for a wide variety of shooting conditions. Power zoom minimizes camera shake so solo photographers can capture clean, stable images, while buttons on compatible frames can be assigned to functions for convenient zoom control[ii]. The device always maintains balance, making it an excellent choice for stable vlogging and gimbal-mounted filming.
Advanced AF performance for movies and stills
The camera's amazing AF performance gives stills and movie makers unprecedented freedom, as it uses two linear motors to control focus, resulting in fast and quiet autofocus. Due to the internal focusing mechanism, the length of the lens remains constant during focusing.
Fast, reliable autofocus accurately tracks your subject for high-frame-rate movies and high-speed, continuous stills of fast-moving subjects. The device reduces focus breathing and changes in viewing angle are minimized for clean, stable footage.
Mobility, handling and reliability in all situations
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G compact high-performance zoom lens is designed to provide the best possible control and versatility for shooting movies and stills with the focus ring, zoom ring and zoom lever. The customizable focus hold button and focus mode switch are carefully placed to easily adapt to changing shooting conditions.
Users can attach 62mm screw-on filters such as variable ND filters for creative concept. The lens is designed to be dust and moisture resistant[iii] to make it more reliable when used outdoors.
