Sebastian Faulks - Spade kapa Jeeves

"This book was written by P.G. I intend it as a tribute to Wodehouse, also on behalf of those who think my work is embarrassingly below par. I thank him for the many joys this work has given me. I have been an avid reader of his works for almost half a century. I'm not a Wodehouse-ism know-it-all genius. Just a fan. At the same time, all I can say to the old foxes is: yes, I understood what I was getting myself into, and yes, it was just as difficult as I expected. Wodehouse's prose is wonderful; that's the problem with him. I didn't want to imitate this unique music too much because I was afraid it would be too gray or too fake. Therefore, I rather tried to give those who have never read the Jeeves books a taste of what they missed. And for those who already know Wodehouse, I tried to evoke nostalgic feelings. The memory of real works should be the melody, and this work is a little piece of melody."Sebastian Faulks
