Product description
In Mihály Babits' attempts to define literature scientifically, a three-pronged, in-depth, but hidden scientific interest can be seen. The irony of these texts, which also contain psychological motifs, is created by the obvious contradictions of the literary theoretical concepts used. The second stage of the analysis argues that Babits' changing moral interest from Bergson's to St. Augustine's ethics is also reflected in his literary theory texts. The last chapter of the research reveals the similarity between the poet's lyric of consciousness and the metaphysics of Béla Zalai. The analysis of the text proves that in Babits's literary theory, the concept of the poetic self originates from the psychological state of consciousness and unconsciousness, therefore the possibilities of literary expression are also a metaphysical space for the self. Dóra Rippl PhD (1977) completed her advanced studies in the philosophy department of the PTE. He obtained his doctorate in 2014 at the PTE Doctoral School of Philosophy. In the same year, he won a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy of Arts and the Molnár Tamás Kutató Központ. In his dissertation, he researched the theoretical aspects of the young Babits's work, as well as the traces and direction of philosophical thinking manifested in the use of concepts in his early theoretical works.
