Richelle Mead - The Glittering Court - A ragyogó udvar

Richelle Mead's new, captivating romance series by the overwhelming international bestseller of the Vampire Academy takes the reader into a world of splendor and discovery.
The Shining Court presents the life of Adelaide from the noble palaces of Osfrid through the gold dust and wild forests of Adoria. Stealing the identity of Countess Osfrid's chambermaid, she escapes her pre-arranged marriage to start a new life in Adoria, the New World. To do this, you need to enroll in the Shining Yard. The Court is both a school and a business enterprise: they sculpt poor girls into noble ladies so that they can marry wealthy and powerful husbands in the New World. Of course, the curriculum does not pose any challenges for Adelaide. During his studies, he befriends Tamsin, a former laundress who escaped from the fire, and Mira, a beautiful refugee from Sirminica. Only one person finds out who he really is: the sharp-witted Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy owner of the Shining Court. Adelaide realizes that Cedric is also hiding a dark secret, and they make a joint plan: they will try to get the most out of Adelaide's lie. But complications soon arise - first when they cross the dangerous waters separating Osfrid and Adoria, and later when Adelaide attracts the attention of an influential governor. But no complication proves as frightening as the attraction between Adelaide and Cedric. If they gave in to their emotions, scandal would break out in the Shining Court, and they would both be banished to the wild, uncharted, faraway lands...
