Renée Knight - A titkárnő

As the assistant of the celebrated Mina Appleton, Christine Butcher knows what is expected of her from day one. Absolute loyalty. Complete discretion. For twenty years, Christine served Mina most devotedly, she was a silent witness to every moment of her life. It's so quiet you almost don't know it's there. Yet Christine was there day after day, year after year, invisibly - watching, listening, absorbing all the secrets floating around her. Keeping them. Christine is reliable. But all those years of loyalty and discretion come at a price, and Christine eventually pays for it. But it would be a mistake to underestimate a woman as steadfast as Christine. Because, as everyone soon realizes, there is a dangerous line separating obedience from obsession. RENEE KNIGHT worked for the BBC as a documentary filmmaker before turning to writing. She completed the "Novel Writing" course at the Faber Academy, living in London with her husband and two children. Her debut novel, Refutation, was a great success and was number one on the Sunday Times bestseller list. The Secretary is her second novel.
