Prana Yerba Mate tea is made entirely from 100% yerba mate, a plant native to South America. Known by its indigenous people as the herb of the gods and by gauchos as cowboy coffee, it is traditionally enjoyed for its invigorating character. Because of its high caffeine content, it is best suited to morning consumption.
For the best flavour, pour water at 70 to 80 °C over the leaves. Hotter water can scorch the tea and reduce its pleasant taste. Traditionally the gourd is filled two-thirds to three-quarters full, but for a first try one or two teaspoons is a good starting point. The tea can be infused several times.
The product may contain traces of peanuts, tree nuts and sesame.
