Philip K. Dick - Dr. Vérdíj

The bombs were just there. They burned, destroyed, destroyed everything. Or at least almost everything.

The survivors of the nuclear holocaust try to adjust to a new kind of life, while mutant animals and people appear in the aftermath of the war.

Life in Point Reyes is relatively normal. Except for the girl, whose body is growing her own brother. And he even talks to her. Then there is the local focomelias, the technical genius who can fix anything. Not to mention Dr. Bluthgeld, the man almost everyone wants dead for his unforgivable crimes.

Dr. Vérdíj is a fascinating and thought-provoking novel about a world affected by nuclear war. A surreal post-battle landscape of destruction and hope. As only Philip K. Dick can paint for us.
