Para-Kovács Imre - A Vosztok-tó jege

Imre Para-Kovács' new novel is about the future, not just one. The three time planes, approximately around 2030, 2050 and 2070, are pressed together like the Antarctic ice layers covering Lake Vosztok, the drill head leads through the frozen future towards the time of writing, the past. And the prophecies are truly frozen and chilling: new drugs, new darkness, ancient wars fought with the most modern weapons, cynicism elevated to religion, we are living in the time of the Church of the Acid Filled Mother or in front of the Redemption Machine, in Southeast Asia, Budapest, outside of space-time . And always in the eternal brutality of love. The novel, which intertwines its narrator and hero, main text and notes, speaks with rampant fantasy, determined and restless language, is a hurricane-force read: a cyberpunk vision, a spiritual vision, a sleepless dream. Ultimately, it is a radical but increasingly realistic prediction.
