16-year-old Terézia Bor grew up in an upscale country family as the only child of the estate. István Musza, who lives in the poor row, appears almost out of nowhere and has a special dedication to horses. With their shared love, a strange and fate-changing life journey begins, which plunges the characters of the story into seemingly endless depths. István's skills as a courtesan handed down to him by his grandmother instantly give a new meaning to Terézia Bor, who has been rejected by accepting love. He will be the new hope for the poor of Kiskunhalas, who will save those who turn to him from seemingly hopeless life situations with his potions. However, the strange relationship of a well-to-do local couple and their masterfully devised murderous plan suddenly change the life of the suitor and her family. Can Terezia escape being used to carry out their evil plan?
The reader of the family novel becomes part of a story shaped by real events. Thanks to the researched and archived archival materials, we find ourselves in a story taking place at the end of the 1800s, where the fate of the characters in the book is shaped by a kind of strange interplay between power and the desire for possession.
