Product description
"Every night, almost against my will, the Internet took me to other, even more colorful paths - it paraded before me the fate of the saints, that is, the fate of their earthly remains after death, the worship of fingers, ankles, locks of hair, hearts cut out of the body, and severed heads. (...) And the abduction of the holy bodies, the division of the dead, the miraculously multiplying hearts, hands, even the foreskin (sacrum preputium) of Baby Jesus. Among the archival bids of an auction site were pieces of the bodies of saints. The first displayed result was the reliquary of János Kapistzrán with the relic enclosed in it - it was offered for 680 zlotys on the Allegro website. " Translated by Noémi Petneki Olga Tokarczuk is one of the greatest figures of contemporary Polish literature. Born in 1962, the writer began her career as a psychotherapist. His fiction writings have been published since the 1990s, and have successively won the most prestigious Polish and international literary awards.
