Nora Roberts - Dark örvények

From the outside, the house on Lakeview Terrace looks perfect, just as the Bigelow family looks perfect: a father with a good name, respected by all, a charming and devoted mother, two beautiful children. A perfect family living a perfect life in a perfect house.

But beneath the flawless surface, dark things lurk, and a very different life takes place behind closed doors. An abusive father and a dysfunctional mother terrorize teenagers Zane and Britt. Zane is too scared to tell anyone about their situation, but he does everything he can to protect his sister, while counting the days until they can finally be free.

After a brutal night in which their father is so overcome with temper that it seems things are about to get worse, the brothers manage to escape. With the help of their beloved aunt, they gradually rebuild their lives, create a new family, and leave the past behind them. But a childhood like theirs can cast a shadow over their lives forever. Can they ever get rid of their past? Or will those dark eddies rise to the surface and force them to fight for their lives once again?
