This book is about two ancient men. About two extraordinary Egyptian pharaohs. Neither lived long, yet both thoroughly subverted their own age and empire. One of them founded a new religion and would have completely renewed his country if he had been allowed to do so. But he was still a great reformer who fundamentally renewed Egypt. Akhenaten was born too early, he was thousands of years ahead of his time with his ideas that improved society. It is hardly believable today, but Akhenaten caused huge changes in his time, which started his country on a new line of development, until his opponents put an end to the noble struggle. If he had not failed, great changes would have taken place not only in the Nile Valley, but also in other parts of the contemporary world. Tutankhamun, the young pharaoh, also did a lot for his people, even though he was taken by death at the age of eighteen. He was also a military leader and a social innovator who boldly opposed the Maradi views. If he has more time and is not taken down by battle injuries and other illnesses, he will take him to greater heights than all subsequent great pharaohs, even Ramses. But even though both Akhenaten and Tutankhamun failed, they left a significant mark not only in the history of Egypt, but also in the history of humanity.
