Neil Gaiman - Északi mitológia (2024)

A new classic: the well-known Norse myths in an amazing rendition by the master of storytelling, Neil Gaiman.

From the ancient stories, Gaiman forges a novel-like arc, starting with the legendary creation of the nine worlds, and then follows the deeds of the demigods, dwarves and giants. For example, stealing Thor's hammer, who is then forced to dress up as a woman with his beard and appetite is no small task, and steal it back like that. But it also tells the most touching story, when the blood of Kvasir, the wisest god, is brewed into the beer that then creates poetry. The countless adventures end with Ragnarök, the twilight of the gods, the birth of new times and people.

Under Gaiman's hand, old dusty myths are filled with life again. The novel's masterful and witty prose highlights the competing selves of the gods, shows their tendency to deceive others and be deceived by them, and introduces the reader to their characteristic of always letting passion get the better of their common sense.
