WHAT PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY AND HOW ARE THE COPPER COMPLEXES OF CHLOROPHYLLINS PRODUCED?

Alkali metal salts of copper chlorophylls are produced by adding copper from the product obtained by saponification of solvent extracts of edible plant parts, grass, alfalfa and nettle; during saponification, the methyl and phytol ester groups disappear and the cyclopentenyl ring can partially break. After copper is added to the purified chlorophyllins, potassium and/or sodium salts are formed by neutralizing the acid groups.
