Nagy Gerzson - Window az Ontario-tóra

"They hide under the thick, fluffy blanket to keep warm on the couch. He hears Kim's teeth chattering. Did you hit yourself, he asks. Yes, says Kim. I didn't even feel it, I was so scared. I was scared shitless. Why, don't you want to die young? I don't fucking want to die young."I don't like stories that are too straightforward, in which the writer leaves no room for thought. I don't like it when the solution is pushed into my image. I like it when the writer keeps a few loopholes open, when he presents his reader with the excitement of the challenge offered by free interpretation. Gerzson Nagy is such a writer. In his second novel, you can discover several such gates, or rather windows. Windows of interpretation, one might say. The story could even be simple if it weren't for these windows, which again and again unsettle and make the reader think, and lend a kind of dreamlike atmosphere to the text. But in the meantime, we read about life, about the reality that can be experienced. This is the truly brilliant thing about Gerzson Nagy's novel, that he describes our reality as we experience it: without compromises and great truths, dream-like, a little vaguely, as if we were looking through a damp, never-washed window. - Márton Böszörményi
