Nadler Herbert - Vadásznapló 1937-1938
Product description
Nadler Herbert is an unavoidable figure in the Hungarian hunting community. Among other things, he is credited with the introduction of "Nadler points", the directorship of the Capital Zoo and Botanical Garden, the editing of the Nature paper, and at one time he even held the title of chief agricultural adviser. Not only his professional work and magnificent trophies, but also his literary work greatly contributed to the enhancement of his authority, he significantly enriched hunting literature with his articles and books.
The primary source material for his writings is largely his diaries, in which he recorded the events of nearly three thousand days spent hunting in German and Hungarian. This volume contains diary entries documenting the years 1937 and 1938, which were previously published under the editorship of Dr. Sándor Oroszi as part of the series entitled Erdzesztörténeti közzemenek.
Nadler Herbert was a persistent and ethical hunter, a good connoisseur of nature and wildlife. In his notes, in addition to the "beautiful, serene and well-ordered" game hunts, he openly wrote about mediocre or just fruitless hunts, in addition to the intoxicating success experiences, about annoying mistakes, and also about the capriciousness of the weather and the hunter's luck, in this way, presenting the entire palette of hunting experiences in a articulate, to-the-point manner , yet readable.
