Mo Hayder - Wolf

"HELP US!" A frightened dog wanders through the forest with this message on his collar. I wonder where he was chased from? Who hopes to be saved from this desperate move?

Oliver, the wealthy businessman, is recovering in his secluded house in the countryside after heart surgery with his wife and twenty-year-old daughter. Unexpectedly, two police officers pull up to them. However, the uniforms are only a deception and the two fake cops take the family hostage. They don't ask for a ransom - but then what do they want?

Several years ago, a still-unsolved, gruesome double murder took place in the area. Is there a connection between the two events? You can pick up the small keys to the solution from page to page. Yet only in the last pages does the secret in this masterfully constructed crime novel open up.

Think you know the answer? You are wrong! They lead by your nose all the way.

MO HAYDER's works are for those who like perfectly structured crime stories that never start with a clear situation. Booklist's review aptly puts it: "It stays with you much longer than the last page."
