Michael Harvey - Brighton

"You came back to bury your past... The thing is, you have to kill me first."

Kevin Pearce - baseball star, model student, pride of Brighton - was fifteen years old when he left town in the back seat of his uncle's car. He and his buddy Bobby Scales had just committed a heinous act of violence that they thought they had every reason to do. Kevin didn't want to shirk responsibility, but he had to. Bobby will be there to take care of the mess, Kevin's future will be brighter than ever. At least that's how it was supposed to work. But in Brighton, things never work as they should.
Twenty-seven years later, Kevin is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist at the Boston Globe. He never returned to his hometown because he avoided his family and especially Bobby Scales. Then he learns that his old friend is the prime suspect in a local serial murder. Kevin heads home all of a sudden - to protect his friend and their secret. In order to be able to cover this story and protect her loved ones, she not only has to face a cunning killer smeared with all kinds of fat, but also her own bribed conscience.
Brighton, this riveting thriller, explores broken promises, unpaid debts and old grudges in a gripping and elegiac style...whatever it costs.
