Matthew Dicks - 21 tétel a szerelemről
Product description
Dan and Jill meet at work and quickly fall in love. They both love books and literature, so Dan decides to quit his job and open a bookstore.
However, the business is not going very well, and Dan must soon realize that financial collapse is inevitable. Not wanting to disappoint his wife, he decides to deal with the situation alone. To overcome his anxiety, he organizes everything into lists, and these sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking notes faithfully reflect his current state of mind.
Matthew Dicks' uniquely humorous novel is a heartwarming story about everyday problems and annoying little things, big dreams, love that conquers all, and the many struggles we have to make our loved ones - and ourselves - happy.
"If you're looking for a witty, fresh, and heartwarming book about fatherhood, family, and what it feels like to step out of your comfort zone, then this brilliant, short-listed story is the perfect choice." The Young Folks
Things I wish I knew when I was twenty:
1. Every gram you gain will be ten times harder to lose.
2. Menthol short drink is not an acceptable substitute for brushing your teeth.
3. Some bras have a button in the front.
4. Abdominal press is not from the devil.
5. If you have the opportunity for a sweet trio, take advantage of it! Please! This only happens once.
6. Audiobooks are not for the faint of heart who can't read.
7. The hours you spend throwing money into slot machines somehow always seem like a useful pastime. However, hours at home playing video games are not.
8. You don't have to disguise yourself by buying shampoo, biscuits or ballpoint pens if you want to buy condoms. Nobody really cares about your sex life.
9. A wheel wrench is required to tighten a wheel bolt. Fingers alone won't work.
10. The kitchen pig cannot cope with half a kilo of overcooked linguini.
11. You never realize how important your hair is until it starts to fall out.
12. There is no rational explanation for a person setting foot in a strip bar.
13. Buy an index-tracking investment fund! Compound interest is a damn important thing.
