Product description
Product content: "Cooling pig's head in a tin bowl,
I look at it for a long time and I don't need to understand
yet I hope it is infinite
the world of the poem, which is in every line
it is of the same and it will be different,
from letter to word, then from word to sentence,
so that I can believe that I am there too
until the light falls on the soft brain,
it trembles on the slippery tin,
but sonnets are only momentary food,
but not mine, rather yours
I dedicate fourteen lines to this,
and there is never a fifteenth line,
because God is in what is not.
Béla Markó's poetic career is accompanied by the sonnet as a genre. The tragic-elegiac mood of the early sonnets is replaced by melancholic serenity in the current volume. These are time-contemplating, contemplative, ""air-summarizing"" poems, which act as evidence and a multi-meaning mystery at the same time. Like the missing fifteenth line of the sonnet - in which the whole thing fits.
