Magyar Miklós - Az akasztófa ánryékában - Francois Villon

In the shadow of the gallows, a missing volume. There are countless editions of Villon's poems in Hungary, but an independent monograph on the poet has not yet been published. The work wraps up Villon's life story and analyzes his poems, relying on the latest research results: documents found in archives, court orders, letters of pardon. It is reconstructed based on the latest literature. Placing it in the historical and social environment of the Middle Ages, it tries to give a complete picture of the possible connections between life and work. He also expresses doubts, since there are so many unknown elements in this set of documents that even the chronology of Villon's life is difficult to put together satisfactorily.
The small monograph, useful for researchers and of interest to literature lovers, evokes the world, living space and poetry of the first "damned poet" with contemporary illustrations.
