How long can you keep secrets?
Convinced that she can finally put an end to her broken marriage, Agatha Christie buys a ticket on the Orient Express under a pseudonym to get to Baghdad. But he is not the only passenger who keeps a secret, and unraveling the mysteries would be a task befitting his famous detective, Hercule Poirot.
Over time, the writer shares her cabin with Katharine Keeling, whose first marriage ended tragically, and the train takes her to a new relationship born out of necessity. And there is Nancy Nelson, recently married but expecting a child from another man, who does her best to hide her pregnancy, but in the process drifts to the edge of complete despair.
All three hide their past from the others, but while the train rumbles eastward, they slowly become friends and help each other.
But what will it do to their good relationship if the fearfully guarded tics are revealed?
Several of the characters and events of the excitingly written, twist-filled, memorable novel are real, which were further colored by the author's imagination. We can learn a lot from it about the most difficult period of Agatha Christie's life, a distant culture and the female soul.
The life of the crime queen was itself a mystery.
In the end, many things are revealed.
