The Lanberg PCE-DB9-004 is a PCI Express x1 expansion card that adds four serial ports to your computer. Each of the four 9-pin D-Sub (DB-9) connectors supports the RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 communication standards, so the card suits a wide range of industrial and office equipment that uses serial connections.

The adapter uses a 256-byte FIFO buffer and bidirectional data transfer for reliable communication. An ASIX MCS9990 controller handles the card's operation. It is rated for temperatures between 0 °C and 50 °C and humidity levels from 10 to 90 percent.

The low-profile design fits into slim computer cases, and a low-profile mounting bracket is included in the package. According to the manufacturer, the card is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.4 and later, and macOS X 10.9 and later.
