KNIPEX 97 43 66 EVO Crimp System Pliers

The 97 43 66 EVO is a special version with increased gripping capacity that uses a pre-assembled crimp die and contact holder to crimp the particularly robust MC4 EVO2 photovoltaic connectors in sizes 4, 6 and up to 10 mm².

In Germany and many other countries, solar installers have long used MC4 connectors for wiring photovoltaic systems. For very large systems and where environmental conditions are particularly harsh, the significantly improved MC4 EVO 2 connectors - the successor product - are increasingly popular.

The 97 43 66 EVO crimping system pliers are specially designed for these modern and robust photovoltaic connectors. In this special model, the increased opening width of the crimping system pliers also enables the crimping of 10 mm² EVO 2 connectors. It has a high capacity, pre-assembled crimp die with crimp beds for 4, 6 or 10 mm² conductors. The pre-assembled contact holder optimally aligns the connectors during crimping. With this special fastening element and the almost parallel movement of the crimping tool, the system crimping tool always provides maximum conductivity, thus becoming a professional benchmark for the installation of large photovoltaic systems.

MC4 EVO 2 and KNIPEX 97 43 66 EVO: perfect for large photovoltaic systems

The best conductivity is especially important for photovoltaic systems - higher resistance results in poorer crimping results in reduced electrical output and therefore financial return. In general, the near-parallel crimping motion of system crimping pliers, such as the KNIPEX 97 43 66 EVO, prevents the formation of gaps between strands, which is almost inevitable with many V-crimping crimping pliers. The pre-assembled fastener optimally aligns the connectors during crimping to achieve the technically best possible closure. This provides even better conductivity and additional protection against environmental influences.

The modern MC4 EVO 2 plug-in connectors in particular offer additional advantages. Like the MC4, these waterproof plug-in connectors are generally suitable for low voltage DC cables, but are even more robust and have a higher temperature limit. They are therefore particularly suitable for very large solar systems - and anywhere with harsh environmental conditions.

More flexible than almost any other crimping tool

In addition to being suitable for up to 10 mm² MC4 EVO 2 connectors, the 97 43 66 EVO also serves as a universal crimping tool with its outstanding features. The optional 97 49 XX Series Crimping Inserts and Contact Holders allow the crimping tool to be used in over 1,000 additional crimping applications, from simple connectors to a variety of specialty connectors. For applications beyond the range offered, crimping inserts are usually available from KNIPEX on request. To crimp standard MC4 connectors, simply replace the pre-installed contact holder with the optional contact holder 97 49 71 1.

The positive latch of the system clamp, which can be released if necessary, ensures consistently high crimping quality. The crimping pressure is precisely set at the factory, i.e. it is perfectly calibrated and can be adjusted if necessary. The lever operation provides a noticeable increase in power and ensures fatigue-free work with one or, if necessary, two hands. In addition, all crimping system pliers are extremely durable, as their body is made of special chrome-vanadium electrical steel and is carefully oil-hardened.
