Kerékgyártó István - Szeretett gazdám avagy Egy vezér ifjúkor

The author's new novel follows his hero from the mid-seventies to the beginning of the nineties, who fights his way up from the poor ranks to the top regions of politics. The reader is holding an unusual development novel, where the village environment, the end-of-the-world society stuck in the mud, pulls back the protagonist, Luko Voditi, who dreams from his childhood that he will achieve great things by escaping from here.
The story takes place somewhere in Eastern Europe, but the country is not precisely defined, the names of persons and places are taken from several languages. It is both a development novel and a social tableau, half dystopian, half sensitive description of our region's recent past, and a psychological analysis of the pathology of power dependencies.
With a special narrator and a lot of dialogue, it reveals the contradictions of the regime change and the dark sides of our common Eastern European past.
It's an exciting read.
