Product description
The protagonist, who works as a lawyer in Diyabakir, gets a call one night completely unexpectedly from his father, whom he has not seen for twenty-five years. The father, Heves Ali, is a living representative of the ancient Anatolian tradition of instrumental singers. He barely saw his son even in his childhood, his parents divorced when he was still young, and in his memory he lived as a shameful father who was always under the spell of his instrument and singing. Now that he reappears in his life, the same picture opens before his eyes as many, many years ago: his only belongings, his wealth, his musical instrument, his three-stringed baglam, and his battered small suitcase.
When the protagonist confronts him that his father is dying and that he probably came to see him for the last time, he doesn't have the heart to let him go, rather he suddenly decides to take him to the city of Kars, for the Feast of the Singers. This marks the beginning of their joint journey through the landscapes of Eastern Anatolia.
