John Scalzi - Zoë history (2019)

Imagine...

Imagine that you are fifteen years old, your long-dead biological father is the greatest traitor to humanity, and your foster parents are heroic ex-military and governors of a new colony. Imagine being accompanied by two fearsome alien bodyguards every step of the way, and a complete alien race teaching you how to live as a self-aware intelligent being in an interstellar reality show.

Imagine having to leave your hometown and home planet forever for a doomsday new colony where you have to make new friends among wild alien settlers to share your joys and troubles with. Because the new world measures both with a generous hand.

What would you do in this situation?

John Scalzi didn't share all the details of Roanoke's history with us in his book The Last Colony, so he listens to his readers and invites us on one last special trip to the War of the Elders universe and Roanoke to relive the adventurous creation of the colony.
