Johann Joachim Winckelmann - Saint-Germain gróf secret tanításai

Then, as always, he reported on the experiences he had gathered along the way. He looked at the world, big and small, with its lofty and ridiculous things, through the lens of an all-understanding and forgiving goodness, and his wonderful humor brought laughter even where others saw only the gloom of life. He had the wonderful gift of being able to pay attention to small things, which those who always looked at the world with great importance were not able to do at all. He often gave a dramatic account of his conversations with peasants whom he met on the way, and who had known him for many years, complained to him rather than to some father confessor. the people fought against the nobility, whose precepts they turned to their own advantage or avoided with ingenious cunning. He had many touching stories to tell, and these evening hours flew by quickly. Our conversation turned to the things that interested us both, and we talked about our favorite subject of alchemy, the royal art.
